Well we have finally set a date for the first RC Race Day:
Sunday, 30 July 2006 at 11amVautier Park Carpark, Puriri Terrace, Palmerston North (off Ruahine Street)

what a great day had by all(a pull start incident aside) About 120 odd people turned up and it was laughs all round. I hear thier will be a bbq next time to quiet the hungers had by many. A big thank you to all the spectators and competitors for supporting the meeting,it can only get better.

Well everyone.. we had our first meeting and it was great. We had a good turn out with 9 gas cars, 11 electric cars and over 100 people in total.
It was great to see a high standard of presentation in the cars, and was even better to see a lack of respect for them on the track! This made for some great viewing.
There were a few frustrating problems with the crystals and the gas starts, but overall we were pleased with how things went. We are working on a better way to start the gas races as a few cooked their clutches while waiting for the others to start their cars. As for the crystal problem, we are working on this as well.
The gas car chassis' have proven they can take an absolute pounding as I threw everything at mine and couldn't wreck it. The fence, however, took a beating and needed 7 irons replaced throughout the day.
There has been a bit of interest from "new-bees" since Sunday, so hopefully we will have some new competitors next time.
Thanks Shane (199p) for the footage. We would love to see some more if anyone has any. I have some good race footage, but as I am computer illiterate, I am waiting for someone in the know to put it on line for me.
I hope you all had as much fun as I did and hope to see you all next time, once all repairs have been done!

Good to see some video footage of me and ET's good start in the race where most of the field piled up behind us and only Pete,ET and myself carry'd on,Hope your at the next event to get some more videos
